Alternative & Independent Media Activism in the MENA Region

In this lesson plan, participants are introduced to alternative/independent forms of media activism in the MENA region. Aided by a lecture and discussion about media activist practices, participants will read the case studies to identify how they illustrate alternative and independent media practices.

In this lesson plan, participants are introduced to the formal and informal procedures and policies that guide media activism in the MENA region. After reviewing case studies, participants will work in small groups to identify media activist organization, access, and participation practices.
